Thought I'd take a moment and set up a new blog. A little amazed that the one from my last trip still exists. Will have to have a read through it before I go and see how this new journey compares.
Different season this time of course, and 5 years on. I'm only visiting two cities I have been to before - Vancouver and Montreal.
At last count I've been contacted by Qantas 3 times to alert me to aircraft and time changes due to the withdrawal from service of the SYD-LAX A380. At this point I'm back to the original timetable, leaving Sydney at 15:10 Tuesday and arriving LAX at 9:45. However I've moved from a Qantas A380 to a Qantas 747, and as of yesterday afternoon I'll now be on an Air Tahiti Nui A340-300! No real concerns. A little disappointed I won't get to experience an A380. Mind you, if they keep changing I may end up in a Flintstones-style wooden box on the back of a pterodactyl.
Still have to get around to deciding what to pack and so on. A couple of layers all over and decent shoes are really the only plan at this point. I arrive in San Francisco where the climate is still quite mild, so I have time there and in Vancouver to rug up further for the serious business of Christmas in Montreal and the new year in England and Scotland.
